May 11: Robot Workshops

8-noon at Wyoming STARBASE Academy, 5410 Bishop Blvd (Raper Armory--enter off of Central Ave., just west of the Game and Fish).

8-10:30--FIRST Lego League workshop, for ages 9-14. Can you accomplish a Robot Mission assigned to you by Mission Control? The Missions will be based on last year's theme: Senior Solutions. Bring a Mindstorm robot kit, or work with the ones provided at the workshop. Weight-lifters and Drag-racers will also be options as a continuation of last month's workshop.

10:30 - noon: 4-H Robot Project help, for ages 8-18. Whether you are a beginner or a more-experienced 4-H Robot Project member, bring a robot kit to work on for the Robot Expo (these can be ANY robots, not just Mindstorms), Showcase Showdown (Mindstorms), or for Laramie County Fair (Mindstorms). Help from leaders and youth will be available. A Sumo Board will be available. A maze MIGHT be available.

Noon-1: Brown bag lunch and NUCLEAR 4-H Club meeting. Open to the public. This will be our last meeting until September. We will discuss summer project help, fundraiser and field trip. PLEASE come to sign our quilt block for the Laramie County 100-year quilt.

Both workshops are free. Snacks and water will be provided. For directions to STARBASE, please call Barb Marquer at 777-8191. For more information about the workshops or the NUCLEAR Club, please contact Lara Shook at 307-630-9058 or at
