The NUCLEAR/STARBASE 2.0 Team competed in the Wyoming FIRST LEGO League championships this past weekend. FIRST LEGO League is a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds, designed to get children excited about science and technology -- and teach them valuable employment and life skills. The eight team members included four Wyoming STARBASE Academy graduates; various school and home schooled, and grade level children. The students met for two hours every week from August to November at Wyoming STARBASE Academy to prepare for the event. The theme this year was Senior Solutions. The “Master Commanders” competed in robot design, programming, a community project, core values of FIRST, and three two and a half minute robot game.
